Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Christies in New York held the auction Avant-Garde(s) Including Thinking Italian, which included the work 04.10.69 by Zao Wou-Ki. The price achieved of EUR 403,200.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zao Wou-Ki achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 29.09.64. in May last year with an auction result of HKD 278,000,000.00 (€ 33,004,566.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Avant-Garde(s) Including Thinking Italian durch, in der auch die Arbeit 04.10.69 von Zao Wou-Ki zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 403.200,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zao Wou-Ki erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 29.09.64. im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 278.000.000,00 (€ 33.004.566,21).
