Berlin artists' association sets an example against hate
Art for peaceful coexistence
With the two-part exhibition #Living Together #Without Hate and Anti-Semitism, the Berlin Artists' Association is committed to non-violent coexistence and social exchange. The vernissage for PART ONE, in which Silke Bartsch from the Art.Salon artist program is also taking part, will take place on 10 January.

With current works of art, artists from the Berlin Artists' Association are taking a stand against hatred and anti-Semitism. A total of 20 artists are presenting their positions, inviting a respectful dialog and setting an example for peaceful coexistence. The vernissage of the exhibition #Living Together #Without Hate and Anti-Semitism PART ONE with works by ten artists will take place on January 10 at 7 pm in the association's gallery. Project manager Sabine Schneider and curatorial advisor Eva Hübner will introduce the exhibition. The participating artists will welcome visitors to an artist talk on Saturday, January 18, from 5 pm. The exhibition ends on January 23, after which PART TWO will run with ten other artists from January 26 to February 9.
Among the artists exhibiting at PART ONE is Silke Bartsch, who is taking part in the Art.Salon artist program. Her installation takes up the equality of people as the basis of a society that offers everyone the chance of a satisfying life. »In my artistic work, I depict the fading and reappearance of human computer tomographies. In this view, all people look the same, regardless of religion, ethnicity or other differences. Just as our values fade or change if we do not allow them to appear in a new light again and again. They should always be considered as signposts«, explains Bartsch in her Artist Statement.
Also exhibiting in PART ONE are Catherine Bourdon, Christoph Damm, Anja Eichler, Yuki Ikutani, Rosika Jankó-Glage, Peter Schlangenbader, Sabine Schneider, Robert Schmidt-Matt and Martin Wellmer. The current two-part exhibition is a thematic continuation of the Art Prize Living Together – Without Hate and Anti-Semitism of the Berlin Artists' Association, which was awarded for the first time in March 2024. The prize was donated by the Lions Club Berlin-Alexanderplatz. Both institutions see their commitment and art as part of the emotional level that accompanies the argumentative and political level in the commitment to peaceful coexistence.
