On June 10 and 11, things will heat up in Munich: at Ketterer Kunst, among other things, the important Brücke collection Gerlinger will be auctioned. In addition to the works of the Brücke artists, a German Pop Art icon will be offered at an auction for the first time: the gallery owner Konrad Fischer, who painted under the name Konrad Lueg.

What is probably unpleasant news for museums is all the more exciting for collectors: the Brücke collection of the Gerlinger couple is being auctioned off. For decades, it has been repeatedly requested for exhibition loans. Among the almost 900 works are also early works by Brücke artists, in which developments in their creative work can be seen in comparison, for example with Karl Schmidt-Rottluff and Erich Heckel. The auction of the collection, which is to take place over the next four years, will make the exhibition more difficult − but collectors will be delighted.

On June 10 and 11, the first part of the collection will go under the hammer at Ketterer Kunst in Munich, alongside other works of classical modern and post-war art. Numerous big names such as Gerhard Richter, Horst Antes, Stephan Balkenhol, Gabriele Münter and Max Liebermann are up for sale. Special attention will be paid to Girl with Blue Birds ( Child with Blue Birds) by August Macke: the estimated price is between two and three million euros.

For the first time, a work by the gallery owner Konrad Fischer is also in an auction: Footballer from 1964 was the first work Fischer was able to sell at the time. He painted under the pseudonym Konrad Lueg and, despite his short creative phase, is considered an important figure in German Pop Art. The estimated price of this painting is between 180,000 and 300,000 euros.Art.Salon
