The 59th Venice Biennale's main exhibition The Milk of Dreams brought surrealist Leonora Carrington (1917-2011) to new fame. The artist and author's work dealt with the representation of bodies, metamorphoses, and the relationship between humans and technology. In the course of this year's biennial, which also stood out for its significant proportion of non-male art practitioners, exhibitors and curators delve further into the themes of the main exhibition in panel discussions. The events will take place June 7-11.

The first panel, titled Leonora Carrington and the Metamorphoses of the Body and Humanity, begins with an introduction by director Cecilia Alemani at 10 a.m. June 7. Other panels include Posthuman Feminism, Carrington and Queer/Trans* Image Making, Posthuman Philosophy, and Surrealism and the Occult, the Tarot, and Magic. On June 11, the series concludes with Curating from Feminist Perspectives including a short talk by Andrea Giunta, professor of art in Buenos Aires.Art.Salon
