Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Grapes by Ai Weiwei was sold in the Post War and Contemporary Art Evening Auction auction at Christies in London in October 2015. The price achieved of GBP 422,500.00 (€ 590,971.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 350,000.00 – 450,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ai Weiwei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Circle of Animals / Zodiac Heads in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 3,442,500.00 (€ 4,853,881.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Grapes von Ai Weiwei wurde im Oktober 2015 in der Auktion Post War and Contemporary Art Evening Auction bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 422.500,00 (€ 590.971,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 350.000,00 – 450.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ai Weiwei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Circle of Animals / Zodiac Heads im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.442.500,00 (€ 4.853.881,79).
