Auction result well in line with expectations
In June last year Sothebys in Zurich held the auction Modern & Contemporary Auction, which included the work Bildnis Marie Anker by Albert Anker. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CHF 150,000.00 – 200,000.00, the actual price achieved of CHF 151,200.00 (€ 151,228.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Albert Anker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Turnstunde in Ins. 1879. in June 2013 with an auction result of CHF 7,495,000.00 (€ 6,096,240.58).
