Auction result misses estimated price range
In April this year a collector was able to acquire the work Ste. Genevieve, Missouri by Alec Soth for USD 5,080.00 (€ 4,601.45). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alec Soth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Charles, Vasa, Minnesota in April 2021 with an auction result of USD 113,400.00 (€ 94,264.34).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Ste. Genevieve, Missouri von Alec Soth für USD 5.080,00 (€ 4.601,45) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alec Soth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Charles, Vasa, Minnesota im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 113.400,00 (€ 94.264,34).
