This artwork by Alexander Archipenko achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2021. In the Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale auction, the work Torso in Space (Version D) sold for USD 225,000.00 (€ 199,344.38) - well above the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Archipenko achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 1,464,000.00 (€ 2,169,740.45).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Alexander Archipenko erzielte im November 2021 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Torso in Space (Version D) für USD 225.000,00 (€ 199.344,38) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 120.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexander Archipenko erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woman im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.464.000,00 (€ 2.169.740,45).
