Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Jeux De Mains by Amédée Ozenfant was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in March 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,875.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Amédée Ozenfant achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Verrerie in October 2016 with an auction result of GBP 557,000.00 (€ 620,514.87).
