Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Singapore II by Andreas Gursky was sold in the CONTEMPORARY ART (DAY SALE) auction at Christies in London in February 2002. The price achieved of GBP 9,400.00 (€ 15,339.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andreas Gursky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 99 Cent Ii, Diptych in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 1,700,000.00 (€ 2,520,188.96).

Die Arbeit Singapore II von Andreas Gursky wurde im Februar 2002 in der Auktion CONTEMPORARY ART (DAY SALE) bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 9.400,00 (€ 15.339,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andreas Gursky erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 99 Cent Ii, Diptych im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.700.000,00 (€ 2.520.188,96).
