Upper estimate price exceeded by 59 %.
The work Van Heusen (Ronald Reagan), from Ads by Andy Warhol was sold in the Prints and Multiples auction at Bonhams in London in June this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 39,680.00 (€ 46,180.69), 59% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
