Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Femme agenouillée ou Femme accroupie by Aristide Maillol was auctioned at Christies in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 88,200.00 (€ 82,191.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aristide Maillol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Riviere, 1938-1943 in December 2013 with an auction result of EUR 6,033,500.00.
