This artwork by Brassaï achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February 2016. In the Modern Visions: Exceptional Photographs auction, the work Pont Neuf, 1949 sold for USD 21,250.00 (€ 19,552.82) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Brassaï - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ciel Postiche (False Sky), which sold at auction in April 2001 for USD 44,650.00 (€ 50,315.53).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Brassaï erzielte im Februar 2016 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Visions: Exceptional Photographs wurde die Arbeit Pont Neuf, 1949 für USD 21.250,00 (€ 19.552,82) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Brassaï mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ciel Postiche (False Sky) beobachtet, die im April 2001 für USD 44.650,00 (€ 50.315,53) versteigert wurde.
