In the Art Contemporain Vente du Jour auction, the work Swirling Curl, Modeled After Walls 77 (Two Works) sold for EUR 10,625.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Burhan Cahit Doğançay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Whispering Wall Ii in April 2011 with an auction result of GBP 277,250.00 (€ 312,231.28).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Burhan Cahit Doğançay erzielte im Juni 2017 bei Sothebys in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Art Contemporain Vente du Jour wurde die Arbeit Swirling Curl, Modeled After Walls 77 (Two Works) für EUR 10.625,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Burhan Cahit Doğançay erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Whispering Wall Ii im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 277.250,00 (€ 312.231,28).
