In April 2016 Christies in London held the auction First Open | London, which included the work Static_4 by Carsten Nicolai. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 13,750.00 (€ 17,576.59), 38% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carsten Nicolai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Telefunken Prototype 4 x 2, which sold at auction in February 2007 for USD 66,000.00 (€ 49,886.62).

Im April 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion First Open | London durch, in der auch die Arbeit Static_4 von Carsten Nicolai zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 17.576,59) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Carsten Nicolai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Telefunken Prototype 4 x 2 beobachtet, die im Februar 2007 für USD 66.000,00 (€ 49.886,62) versteigert wurde.
