This artwork by Cecily Brown achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2007. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction, the work The Pyjama Game sold for USD 1,608,000.00 (€ 1,195,272.43) - well above the upper estimate of USD 600,000.00. Admittedly, works by Cecily Brown have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (The Beautiful and Damned) in May this year with an auction result of USD 6,705,000.00 (€ 6,293,410.93).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Cecily Brown erzielte im Mai 2007 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit The Pyjama Game für USD 1.608.000,00 (€ 1.195.272,43) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 600.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cecily Brown auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (The Beautiful and Damned) im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.705.000,00 (€ 6.293.410,93).
