Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charles Camoin could be acquired at Christies in New York in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper and Day Sale auction, the work Le Port de Saint-Tropez après l'orage changed hands for USD 48,000.00 (€ 44,730.22) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Camoin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le Port De Cassis, 1904-1905 in May 2011 with an auction result of EUR 266,966.00.
