Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century to Now, which included the work Running Fence (Project for Sonoma County and Marin County, State of California) by Christo. It changed hands for a price of GBP 50,800.00 (€ 59,122.45) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 35,000.00 – 55,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Umbrellas (Joint project for Japan and USA) in February 2021 with an auction result of EUR 1,706,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion 20th Century to Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Running Fence (Project for Sonoma County and Marin County, State of California) von Christo zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 50.800,00 (€ 59.122,45) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 35.000,00 – 55.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Umbrellas (Joint project for Japan and USA) im Februar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.706.500,00.
