Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Surrounded islands (project for Biscayne Bay, Greater Miami, Florida) by Christo was auctioned at Christies in Paris in December this year. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 35,000 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 39,060. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Umbrellas (Joint project for Japan and USA) in February last year with an auction result of EUR 1,706,500.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Surrounded islands (project for Biscayne Bay, Greater Miami, Florida) von Christo kam im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Christies in Paris zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 35.000 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 39.060 einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Umbrellas (Joint project for Japan and USA) im Februar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.706.500.
