Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Wrapped Monument To Cristobal Colón, Project For Barcelona by Christo was auctioned at Christies in June 2021. The price achieved of EUR 162,500.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Umbrellas (Joint project for Japan and USA) in February 2021 with an auction result of EUR 1,706,500.00.

Die Arbeit Wrapped Monument To Cristobal Colón, Project For Barcelona von Christo kam im Juni 2021 bei Christies zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 162.500,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Umbrellas (Joint project for Japan and USA) im Februar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.706.500,00.
