Despite a disappointment, a good price for Clarence White
When the work Mother And Child, Circa 1915 by Clarence White was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,572.50 (€ 3,327.85). Despite this disappointing result, Mother And Child, Circa 1915 is the most expensive artwork by Clarence White that we have observed at auction so far.
