Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Danseuse Au Repos by Edgar Degas for USD 37,042,500.00 (€ 29,181,109.19). This price was achieved in the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 40,000,000.00 – 60,000,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Edgar Degas have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May last year by the work Petite danseuse de quatorze ans at USD 41,610,000.00 (€ 38,775,510.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Danseuse Au Repos von Edgar Degas für USD 37.042.500,00 (€ 29.181.109,19) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000.000,00 – 60.000.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Edgar Degas wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres die Arbeit Petite danseuse de quatorze ans mit USD 41.610.000,00 (€ 38.775.510,20).
