Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Edgar Degas could be acquired at Christies in New York in May this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper Sale auction, the work Jockey à cheval changed hands for USD 75,600.00 (€ 70,959.26) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edgar Degas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Petite danseuse de quatorze ans in May last year with an auction result of USD 41,610,000.00 (€ 38,775,510.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edgar Degas konnte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper Sale wechselte die Arbeit Jockey à cheval für USD 75.600,00 (€ 70.959,26) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edgar Degas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Petite danseuse de quatorze ans im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.610.000,00 (€ 38.775.510,20).
