This artwork by Edvard Munch achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in November 2021. In the Modern Evening Auction auction, the work Soloppgang I Åsgårdstrand (Sunrise in Åsgårdstrand) sold for USD 5,319,600.00 (€ 4,713,032.69) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edvard Munch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Scream in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 119,922,500.00 (€ 96,993,286.96).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Edvard Munch erzielte im November 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Evening Auction wurde die Arbeit Soloppgang I Åsgårdstrand (Sunrise in Åsgårdstrand) für USD 5.319.600,00 (€ 4.713.032,69) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edvard Munch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Scream im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 119.922.500,00 (€ 96.993.286,96).
