Upper estimate price exceeded by 35%
The work Kreuzigung mit verfinsterter Sonne (Crucifixion with Darkened Sun) by Egon Schiele was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Evening Auction auction at Sothebys in London in March this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 942,500 (€ 1,117,440), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Egon Schiele achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Häuser Mit Bunter Wäsche (Vorstadt Ii) Houses With Laundry (Suburb Ii) in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 24,681,250 (€ 27,305,215).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35% übertroffen
Die Arbeit Kreuzigung mit verfinsterter Sonne (Crucifixion with Darkened Sun) von Egon Schiele wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Evening Auction bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 942.500 (€ 1.117.440) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Egon Schiele erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Häuser Mit Bunter Wäsche (Vorstadt Ii) Houses With Laundry (Suburb Ii) im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 24.681.250 (€ 27.305.215).
