Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Femme dans la baignoire by Elina Brotherus for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,084.68). This price was achieved in the auction Under the Influence at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Elina Brotherus have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le Printemps from 'The New Painting', 2001 in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 18,136.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Femme dans la baignoire von Elina Brotherus für USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.084,68) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Under the Influence bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Elina Brotherus auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le Printemps from 'The New Painting', 2001 im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 18.136,13).
