Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work Xmas Morn by Eric Fischl for USD 362,500.00 (€ 293,189.91). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eric Fischl achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Old Man's Boat and the Old Man's Dog in May last year with an auction result of USD 4,140,000.00 (€ 3,857,981.55).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2012 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Xmas Morn von Eric Fischl für USD 362.500,00 (€ 293.189,91) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 600.000,00 – 800.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eric Fischl erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Old Man's Boat and the Old Man's Dog im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.140.000,00 (€ 3.857.981,55).
