Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Second Version, Triptych 1944 by Francis Bacon was auctioned at Bonhams in London in June this year. The price achieved of GBP 20,480.00 (€ 23,835.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Bacon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Three Studies Of Lucian Freud in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 142,405,000.00 (€ 104,663,383.80).
