In February 2020 Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Magnolia Door One by Gary Hume. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 40,000.00 (€ 46,360.09), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gary Hume achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vicious in February 2014 with an auction result of GBP 410,500.00 (€ 498,035.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im Februar 2020 führte Phillips in London die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Magnolia Door One von Gary Hume zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 40.000,00 (€ 46.360,09) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gary Hume erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vicious im Februar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 410.500,00 (€ 498.035,27).
