Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Das letzte Selbstbildnis I by Georg Baselitz was auctioned at Phillips in London in October 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,700,000.00 – 6,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,983,500.00 (€ 5,533,751.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Georg Baselitz have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May last year the work Dresdner Frauen – Besuch aus Prag [Women of Dresden – Visit from Prague|AID712205] was auctioned for USD 11,240,000.00 (€ 10,474,326.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Das letzte Selbstbildnis I von Georg Baselitz kam im Oktober 2020 bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.700.000,00 – 6.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.983.500,00 (€ 5.533.751,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Georg Baselitz konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai letzten Jahres die Arbeit Dresdner Frauen – Besuch aus Prag [Women of Dresden – Visit from Prague|AID712205] für USD 11.240.000,00 (€ 10.474.326,72) versteigert.
