Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georges Rouault achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fleurs décoratives in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 644,000.00 (€ 761,679.48).

Die Arbeit Povre Pierrot von Georges Rouault kam im Mai 2016 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.838,80) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georges Rouault erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fleurs décoratives im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 644.000,00 (€ 761.679,48).
