The work Testa di cavallo by Giorgio de Chirico was sold in the ARTE MODERNA E CONTEMPORANEA auction at Christies in Milan in May 2003. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 23,560.00 57% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giorgio de Chirico achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Il Pomeriggio Di Arianna (Ariadne’S Afternoon) in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 15,890,400.00 (€ 13,643,341.63).

Die Arbeit Testa di cavallo von Giorgio de Chirico wurde im Mai 2003 in der Auktion ARTE MODERNA E CONTEMPORANEA bei Christies in Mailand versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 23.560,00 und damit 57% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giorgio de Chirico erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Il Pomeriggio Di Arianna (Ariadne’S Afternoon) im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.890.400,00 (€ 13.643.341,63).
