A top price for Günther Uecker
This artwork by Günther Uecker achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2017. In the Post War & Contemporary Art Evening Auction auction, the work Spirale I, Spirale II (Doppelspirale) sold for GBP 2,629,000.00 (€ 3,080,928.49) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500,000.00. This high result makes Spirale I, Spirale II (Doppelspirale) the most expensive artwork by Günther Uecker that we have observed at auctions so far.
