Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Richard Gallo Et Son Chien Dick, Au Petit-Gennevilliers by Gustave Caillebotte was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 18,000,000.00 – 25,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 19,686,000.00 (€ 17,865,505.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gustave Caillebotte - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Jeune homme à sa fenêtre, which sold at auction in November 2021 for USD 53,030,000.00 (€ 46,983,255.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Richard Gallo Et Son Chien Dick, Au Petit-Gennevilliers von Gustave Caillebotte kam im November 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 18.000.000,00 – 25.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 19.686.000,00 (€ 17.865.505,04) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Gustave Caillebotte mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Jeune homme à sa fenêtre beobachtet, die im November 2021 für USD 53.030.000,00 (€ 46.983.255,07) versteigert wurde.
