Auction result well in line with expectations
The work L’Extase (Nocturne) by Harriet Whitney Frishmuth was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March last year. The price achieved of USD 10,080.00 (€ 9,086.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harriet Whitney Frishmuth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Vine in May 2009 with an auction result of USD 962,500.00 (€ 681,367.69).
