Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Hyères, France, 1932 by Henri Cartier-Bresson. The price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,129.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Cartier-Bresson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On the Banks of the Marne, France in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 212,500.00 (€ 195,043.60).
