Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bateau pilote de Dielie by J. Alphonse Pellion was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2002. It changed hands for a price of GBP 6,572.50 (€ 10,445.21) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by J. Alphonse Pellion achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Une vue du Port de Sidney prise de l'observatoire (croquis d'après nature) le 13 Dec 1819 in September 2002 with an auction result of GBP 74,090.00 (€ 117,746.03).

Die Arbeit Bateau pilote de Dielie von J. Alphonse Pellion kam im September 2002 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 6.572,50 (€ 10.445,21) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von J. Alphonse Pellion erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Une vue du Port de Sidney prise de l'observatoire (croquis d'après nature) le 13 Dec 1819 im September 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 74.090,00 (€ 117.746,03).
