Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2002 Christies in London held the auction THE FREYCINET COLLECTION, which included the work Voyage à Bathurst (nouv. hollande). Une vue de la Rivière de Coxe et du poste militaire qui en porte le nom (Coxe River) by J. Alphonse Pellion. The price achieved of GBP 3,824.00 (€ 6,077.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by J. Alphonse Pellion achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Une vue du Port de Sidney prise de l'observatoire (croquis d'après nature) le 13 Dec 1819 in September 2002 with an auction result of GBP 74,090.00 (€ 117,746.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion THE FREYCINET COLLECTION durch, in der auch die Arbeit Voyage à Bathurst (nouv. hollande). Une vue de la Rivière de Coxe et du poste militaire qui en porte le nom (Coxe River) von J. Alphonse Pellion zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.824,00 (€ 6.077,21) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von J. Alphonse Pellion erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Une vue du Port de Sidney prise de l'observatoire (croquis d'après nature) le 13 Dec 1819 im September 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 74.090,00 (€ 117.746,03).
