Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portraits de Rawak. Aas. Capitan Raouk, abas, un des chefs de Guébé; and Portraits de Guébéens by J. Alphonse Pellion was sold in the THE FREYCINET COLLECTION auction at Christies in London in September 2002. The price achieved of GBP 1,792.50 (€ 2,848.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by J. Alphonse Pellion achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Une vue du Port de Sidney prise de l'observatoire (croquis d'après nature) le 13 Dec 1819 in September 2002 with an auction result of GBP 74,090.00 (€ 117,746.03).

Die Arbeit Portraits de Rawak. Aas. Capitan Raouk, abas, un des chefs de Guébé; and Portraits de Guébéens von J. Alphonse Pellion wurde im September 2002 in der Auktion THE FREYCINET COLLECTION bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.792,50 (€ 2.848,69) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von J. Alphonse Pellion erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Une vue du Port de Sidney prise de l'observatoire (croquis d'après nature) le 13 Dec 1819 im September 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 74.090,00 (€ 117.746,03).
