Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2002 Christies in London held the auction THE FREYCINET COLLECTION, which included the work Le gouvr de Diely; Dona Joachim, femme du Gounr and D.Francisco de Assis Durand Capan Mor (the Governor and his wife); Portraits de Diely (and an engraver's drawing by E.Bevalet after Pellion for Plate 17 (Grand Archipel d'Asie: Ile Timor, Dillé. Po by J. Alphonse Pellion. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,767.50 (€ 12,344.34) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by J. Alphonse Pellion have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Une vue du Port de Sidney prise de l'observatoire (croquis d'après nature) le 13 Dec 1819 in September 2002 with an auction result of GBP 74,090.00 (€ 117,746.03).

Im September 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion THE FREYCINET COLLECTION durch, in der auch die Arbeit Le gouvr de Diely; Dona Joachim, femme du Gounr and D.Francisco de Assis Durand Capan Mor (the Governor and his wife); Portraits de Diely (and an engraver's drawing by E.Bevalet after Pellion for Plate 17 (Grand Archipel d'Asie: Ile Timor, Dillé. Po von J. Alphonse Pellion zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.767,50 (€ 12.344,34) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von J. Alphonse Pellion auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Une vue du Port de Sidney prise de l'observatoire (croquis d'après nature) le 13 Dec 1819 im September 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 74.090,00 (€ 117.746,03).
