Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2002 Christies in London held the auction THE FREYCINET COLLECTION, which included the work Voyage à Bathurst (nouv. hollande). Aurang Jacke chef de Spring-Woode, dans les montagnes Bleus, avec 2 femmes. Betzy-Natiwoé. Merey.; and Voyage à Bathurst (nouv. hollande) Deux Sauvages rencontrés dans les Bois des Montagnes Bleues près de Ré by J. Alphonse Pellion. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 5,736.00 (€ 9,115.82). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by J. Alphonse Pellion achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Une vue du Port de Sidney prise de l'observatoire (croquis d'après nature) le 13 Dec 1819 in September 2002 with an auction result of GBP 74,090.00 (€ 117,746.03).

Merey.; and Voyage à Bathurst (nouv. hollande) Deux Sauvages rencontrés dans les Bois des Montagnes Bleues près de Ré von J. Alphonse Pellion zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 5.736,00 (€ 9.115,82) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von J. Alphonse Pellion erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Une vue du Port de Sidney prise de l'observatoire (croquis d'après nature) le 13 Dec 1819 im September 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 74.090,00 (€ 117.746,03).
