A top price for J. Alphonse Pellion - as previously expected

Alphonse Pellion was sold in the THE FREYCINET COLLECTION auction at Christies in London in September 2002. The price achieved of GBP 74,090.00 (€ 117,746.03) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 60,000.00 – 90,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Une vue du Port de Sidney prise de l'observatoire (croquis d'après nature) le 13 Dec 1819 is the most expensive artwork by J. Alphonse Pellion that we have observed at auctions so far.
