Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2002 Christies in London held the auction THE FREYCINET COLLECTION, which included the work Coupang; Ile Timor. Scene prise au Bazard by J. Alphonse Pellion. The price achieved of GBP 11,950.00 (€ 18,991.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by J. Alphonse Pellion have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Une vue du Port de Sidney prise de l'observatoire (croquis d'après nature) le 13 Dec 1819 in September 2002 with an auction result of GBP 74,090.00 (€ 117,746.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion THE FREYCINET COLLECTION durch, in der auch die Arbeit Coupang; Ile Timor. Scene prise au Bazard von J. Alphonse Pellion zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 11.950,00 (€ 18.991,29) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von J. Alphonse Pellion auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Une vue du Port de Sidney prise de l'observatoire (croquis d'après nature) le 13 Dec 1819 im September 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 74.090,00 (€ 117.746,03).
