Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jan Miense Molenaer achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Zurich in June 2020. In the Swiss Made UNLOCKED auction, the work Peasants Making Merry In A Tavern sold for CHF 25,000.00 (€ 23,513.04) - well above the upper estimate of CHF 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Miense Molenaer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Duet: A Self Portrait Of The Artist With His Wife, Judith Leyster, Probably Their Marriage Portrait in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 2,405,000.00 (€ 1,781,481.48).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Duet: A Self Portrait Of The Artist With His Wife, Judith Leyster, Probably Their Marriage Portrait im Januar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.405.000,00 (€ 1.781.481,48).
