Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2012 Christies in London held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included the work Hampi Kamlapur by Jayashree Chakravarty. The price achieved of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,608.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jayashree Chakravarty - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in March 2009 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 37,704.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hampi Kamlapur von Jayashree Chakravarty zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 11.608,48) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jayashree Chakravarty mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im März 2009 für USD 50.000,00 (€ 37.704,55) versteigert wurde.
