Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le gros arbre (environs de Gournay) by Jean Baptiste Camille Corot was auctioned at Christies in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 252,000.00 (€ 234,833.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Baptiste Camille Corot achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venise, vue du Quai des Esclavons in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 9,009,844.00 (€ 7,720,517.57).
