In December last year Christies in Milan held the auction Un Folle Amore: The Agrati Collection, which included the work One Plate, da: Dutch Hearts by Jim Dine. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,134.00 42% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jim Dine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Fence (Sydney Close) in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 391,000.00 (€ 436,481.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 42 % übertroffen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Christies in Mailand die Auktion Un Folle Amore: The Agrati Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit One Plate, da: Dutch Hearts von Jim Dine zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.134,00 und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jim Dine erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Fence (Sydney Close) im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 391.000,00 (€ 436.481,36).
