Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (nude) by John Rawlings for USD 1,175.00 (€ 1,324.09). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Rawlings - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Arched Nude, circa 1960, which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,310.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2001 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled (nude) von John Rawlings für USD 1.175,00 (€ 1.324,09) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Rawlings mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Arched Nude, circa 1960 beobachtet, die im Dezember 2008 für USD 6.000,00 (€ 4.310,65) versteigert wurde.
