Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2017 Christies in London held the auction on paper | online, which included the work Untitled (Two Young Girls) by Karel Appel. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 21,272.12). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Karel Appel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two birds and a Flower in December 2012 with an auction result of EUR 841,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion on paper | online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Two Young Girls) von Karel Appel zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 18.750,00 (€ 21.272,12) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Karel Appel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two birds and a Flower im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 841.000,00.
