Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Vigil by Lee Krasner was sold in the Modern Evening Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2021. The price achieved of USD 5,549,400.00 (€ 4,916,629.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,500,000.00 – 6,500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lee Krasner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Eye Is The First Circle, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 11,654,000.00 (€ 10,452,955.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Vigil von Lee Krasner wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion Modern Evening Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.549.400,00 (€ 4.916.629,75) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.500.000,00 – 6.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Lee Krasner mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Eye Is The First Circle beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 11.654.000,00 (€ 10.452.955,42) versteigert wurde.
